Random Tuesday brain waves...

I've been thinking that what is happening in the US is due to the fact that we are no longer a unified nation - more like a dazzling, tumbling kaleidoscope that gets more complex every day. Our attention spans are so short now we can't even rally behind even mediocre ideas for long because distractions are quick to pop up and like a kid, we turn towards the new lollipop as we cast the twice-licked one over our shoulders.

Pity. We are all going to get spanked. And for many it will hurt a lot worse than others...

December 21, 2009. Winter solstice. It is also the deadline for me to finish the final revision of my novel The Pegboard of E'svarn. If I don't, all hell will break loose and evil forces will rise up and turn me into a pointy eared marsupial. Or perhaps I will just vaporize.

Currently deep into chapter 5 - to be completed this week and I'd better get on the stick and do at least a chapter per week or else. The adrenaline will flow!

The process of revision is beastly - requiring one to be ruthless and very demanding of one's own limited cache of talents. It was much easier to dream up all the magic - now I have to make it cohesive and brilliant. And that is not easy at all - especially for a daydreamer who has the attention span of a caffeinated ferret...

Back into the maw...

Once upon a time there was a writer who often wrote what he felt. Sometimes it was brilliant. Sometimes it was crap. Affected by the mood of the planets, dietary implications and the pull of distant universal chords he set out yet again to attempt to create something cosmically remunerative, yet oddly entertaining as well. This marks the first step of a new beginning on the endless and infinite treadmill of time.

Namaste...
